Team Liquid has been one of the most successful organizations in the esports industry over the years. In 2000, Victor Goossens (Nazgul) established this organization as a Dutch StarCraft: Brood War clan. When StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty (2010) was released in 2010, team Liquid signed its first professional players.
After two more years, this newly created organisation recruited a North American Dota 2 team, which was its first step into multi-genre management. For the first time in 2015, Team Liquid saw its turning point with a Team Curse merger. This collaboration was under the liquid banner, bringing in former Curse teams and staff, along with Steve Arhancet (LiQuiD112).
By early 2020, Team Liquid had already earned over 20 rosters in different disciplines of Esports they entered. Team Liquid is gradually increasing its grasp over Asian titles while having established a presence in Europe, North America, and Brazil.

In January 2022, Team Liquid completed another significant merger with Limit Guild, one of the leading World of Warcraft guilds. Now, Limit Guild has become a part of TL, with its leader, Max Smith (Maximum), a co-owner of the organisation. This merger aims to bring TL into the MMO genre, bringing it to a new part of its history.
Winning countless tournaments in multiple genres throughout time, Team Liquid has won some of the most important ones— Intel Grand Slam season 2 in CS-GO, The International 2017 in Dota 2, and four LCS splits in League of Legends. Since 2017, Team Liquid has been the highest-earning organisation, with a top spot on the list of organisations.
