Saudi Telecommunication Company (STC) group has been announced as the elite and founding partner of the Esports World Cup (EWC), which is taking place in Riyadh. The Esports World Cup Foundation announced on Tuesday that STC will officially partner with them to broadcast the eight-week competition, which will start on July 3. Although the financial terms of the partnership have been kept confidential, it is disclosed that the branding partner of EWC will be seen in all the venues during the tournament.
Ralf Reichert, CEO of Esports World Cup Foundation, said that STC group is the digital backbone of this most awaited competition that will enable its fans to enjoy matches from all over the world. However, the enthusiasts and fans will have to stay connected with them through a special STC SIM card.
Popular online games such as Fortnite, TEKKEN 8, PUBG mobile, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Apex Legends, Rennsport, Rocket League, DOTA2, Counter-Strike 2, Honor of Kings, Free Fire, EA Sports FC 24, League of Legends, StarCraft II, Street Fighter 6, Teamfight Tactics, and more are included in this Esports festival. The best teams and athletes belonging to a particular discipline have been invited and qualified to take part in this upcoming competition from across the world.
With the partnership between the largest broadcasting company and EWC, the gaming experience will be at the next level for both athletes and fans. Earlier this week, the foundation also partnered with Adidas, Nestle’s chocolate brand KitKat, and esports data firm Bayes Esports.
This is a big event in the esports industry as the prize pool for the winner has also increased this year as EWC is funded by the Saudi Arabian government. While the government funds the gaming festival, the competition is facilitated by the ESL FACEIT Group. With all the big names in telecom, ecommerce, and the esports industry joining hands, it will be a treat to watch the tournament as it begins.
