Valve’s Major Update for Counter-Strike 2 https://thegamingnewz.com/esports/valves-major-update-for-counter-strike-2/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=valves-major-update-for-counter-strike-2 https://thegamingnewz.com/esports/valves-major-update-for-counter-strike-2/#respond Mon, 29 Apr 2024 06:21:09 +0000 https://thegamingnewz.com/?p=2702 Valve's Major Update for Counter-Strike

The post Valve’s Major Update for Counter-Strike 2 first appeared on The Gaming Newz.

]]>
Valve has recently released the new post-Major CS2 update, which brings significant changes to the game. These changes include both improvements and potentially controversial elements. Let’s take a closer look at some of the major updates introduced in this release.

The controversial update of CS 2

Before talking about the good updates, let’s take a look at the controversial elements of the update. The latest CS 2 update has brought about a significant change to the Active Duty map pool, marking the return of the old popular map Dusty 2 while removing another popular and fan-favorite map Overpass. This move has gotten mixed responses from the CS2 community.

Overpass was a popular and fan-favorite map for CS2 players due to its verticality and multiple bomb sites. Even though players didn’t like this change, they suggested removing maps like Mirage, which could have benefited from a break.

Alternatively, Vertigo, which has faced criticism for its gameplay, could have been a more logical choice for removal, as Valve could have worked on it and made it better.

The return of Left Hand in CS2

The latest CS2 update has reintroduced the left-hand view model, a feature that many players had been eagerly waiting for since the game’s launch seven months ago. This change has been highly requested by the community.

However, Valve added a little twist to it. Unlike CS:GO, where you could switch between left and right-hand view models instantly, without any hassle. But in CS2, changing hands now requires you to pull out your weapon again, resulting in a delay. This can hugely impact the gameplay, as CS2 is very fast-paced, potentially impacting survival in critical situations.

Update on Inferno Map

Since the Inferno revamp, it has gradually become one of the less-played maps in the CS2 Active Duty pool. Players have commonly complained that it felt too cramped, especially with overhead buildings hindering hamper utility usage.

Valve seems to have addressed these concerns in the latest update. They’ve made significant changes to the overhead buildings in Mid and on Banana, creating a more open feel to the map.

Additionally, the banana has been widened slightly, which is seen as a very positive change. It remains to be seen if these adjustments will fully restore Inferno to its former popularity.

Check out Counter Strike’s official website to see the full Patch notes regarding the latest update.

In the lower bracket final of DreamLeague Season 23: Western Europe Closed Qualifier, Team Tundra Esports showcased their dominating performance against Team OG and clinched the match with 2-0 series Victory. Tundra Esports win against OG confirmed their seat in the DreamLeague Season 23 Main Event. OG gave a tough competition, but they weren’t able to tackle Tundra Esports strategies and gameplay executions.

Tundra Esports’ carry player, Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko, played a pivotal role in the team’s victory. Ivan showcased his amazing lane control, first as the character Morphling, and then as Luna. This gives an early advantage to Tundra. Team Liquid is also qualified for the Main Tournament.

Tundra Esports Vs OG: Match Recap

In the first game, OG decided to go for a tri-core melee lineup involving Sven, Pangolier in the midlane, and Kunkka in the offlane. They might have thought this as their best lineup against Tundra Esports, but the lineup backfired. Tundra Esports lineup featured Pure on Morphling, Topson as the Sniper in the midlane, and Tobi on Centaur Warruner as the tank.

Pure dominated the safelane, resulting in the team killing Kunkka three times within the initial ten minutes. OG continued to lose and wasn’t able to secure kills apart from Batrider, leading to their defeat in 35 Minutes.

Tundra’s domination continued in the second game. Topson showcased his skills in the midlane with Razor, outplaying bzm. Meanwhile, Pure and Whitemon go on a killing spree in the safelane. Therefore, Pure’s Luna was way ahead of other heroes on the networth table. The second game was a little shorter than the first game, as Tundra secured victory in just 28 Minutes.

Where to watch Tundra Esports Vs OG Match?

You can’t watch the full match of Tundra Esports Vs OG, but you still can watch the highlights of it on NoobFromUA YouTube channel.

Before Tundra Esports, several teams received direct invites for the Main Event, such as Gaimin Gladiators. Gaimin Gladiators have received direct invites numerous times, due to their performance. Meanwhile, OG and Tundra Esports were the main contenders for remaining slots.

OG was a fan favorite for some gamers, and they definitely had a chance of qualifying due to their performance in DreamLeague Season 22. However, Tundra benefited from the recent Dota 2 7.35d patch update. This clearly shows the team needs to evolve fast to tackle updates, Tundra able to evolve fast to beat OG.

Tundra Esports will now compete against top Dota 2 teams to win DreamLeague Season 23 and a whopping sum from the $1 Million USD prize pool. DreamLeague Season 23 is scheduled to happen from 20th May to 26th May 2024.

Recently, the head of Esports of Orangutan, Vinay “Hades” Rao, announced in his live stream that no BGMI teams will be playing any tournaments on Mondays except the official events. The decision was made in order to provide their players enough time to rest before the major tournaments/ events start.

Coaches, managers, and decision-makers of each BGMI team formed a WhatsApp group where this decision was made.

On Mondays, no third-party tournaments will be played by most of the team, and they will only play if there is an official event. However, they have also assured that no prior commitments will be broken and will be completed even after the implementation of this decision. The teams play multiple tournaments every day, which exhausts them, and they need to be in the right form before the major events.

In his live stream, “Hades” also revealed that they have asked for Point of View Streaming (POV) because there are many organizations that will play from the Quarter Finals stage. Earlier, the teams were invited to play in the semi-finals directly, but this time, there was a change in the format, and that has lengthened the tournament. This time, they will promote the tournament by putting the logos, names, etc, if they are given POV rights. However, if their request is rejected, then no teams will participate and play in the tournament. This step is taken to find other opportunities to earn money apart from the prize pool.

The BGMI tournaments have seen an increase ever since the unbanning of BGMI in May 2023, as several tournaments were organized in the very first month. In 2024, more than fifteen tournaments have already been held in the past three months, with more official and third-party LAN events in line.

Before the marquee BGMI events like BGIS start, the teams want their players to get appropriate rest and not get exhausted due to daily matches. These matches are mostly in offline format, so they aim to provide better opportunities for players as the popularity of the sports increases. BGIS 2024 is expected to start from 4th April, so most teams will not be playing any third-party matches on Mondays.
