KRAFTON has always promoted fair gaming in tournaments and competitions. The company has strict rules regarding the Code of Conduct/ Ruleset, which is non-negotiable, and thus, these teams suffer a heavy blow just before the event. The investigators proved that all these teams were involved in certain activities that violated the gaming rules directly.

One of the misconducts that was observed among these teams was the use of unauthorised software modifications and collaboration with players who had cheating devices. It will be truly unfair for other players and teams who have joined the competition on skill and hard work if no action was taken against this misconduct.

Krafton is still reviewing whether these teams should be allowed to participate in future matches or not, but for now, the points that these teams accumulated during the tournament will be equally distributed among others in the same group.

After seven months since Free Fire was banned, Garena is finally going to launch its blockbuster video game in India. As per the report of the Economic Times, Singapore-based publisher Garena has started testing out game servers in India. According to the sources, these servers will be set up in Yotta Data Services, Navi Mumbai.

Garena stated in an interview with the Economic Times that Free Fire India will feature fully localized infrastructure following the government directives and stakeholders in India. The company aims to address all regulatory concerns and cater for the unique needs of the Indian gaming community. With the collaboration of Yotta Data Services, players can expect Fire Fire India to be launched very soon.

What Is New In Garena Free Fire India?

Garena planned to launch the game in August 2023, but due to some conflict with government policies, the company has pushed the release date. Even now, the company has not confirmed the release date; it is expected to be launched in the starting week of September. In the earlier campaign, the company has partnered with Indian sports stars like Sunil Chettri, Saina Nehwal, and Rahul Chaudhari.

With the new campaign, Garena has announced MS Dhoni as the brand ambassador.  Additionally, he will also be added as a character in the game, which is already building hype among gamers. Though it has still not been confirmed, it would be fun for his fans around the world to see this happening.

Before, Free Fire was not so popular among Indian gamers due to its security concerns. According to a report, Maharashtra is the number one state in India with high Internet consumption especially among children between the age of 6-14. Children and Youth of Maharashtra are unliving themselves due to losses in the game. The current news of the Maharashtra Health Department tackling health issues related to online gaming comes as a relief for the people of Maharashtra. 

Commissioner of Health Services, Dheeraj Kumar, publicly announced the department’s partnership with the E-Gaming Federation (EGF) to promote responsible gaming practices and tackle addiction and health risks related to online gaming. The health department is aiming to promote responsible behavior among all age groups according to Kumar.

As part of the mental health program, the health department will develop a standard operating procedure (SOP). The SOP is aimed at the diagnosis, identification of symptoms, and treatment of gaming-related health issues. Although the details are being finalized for the SOP. In the beginning, the SOP will include guidelines for responsible gaming and comprehensive information about gaming-related health issues, education, and communication (IEC) campaigns. 

Furthermore, certain state centers will be designated to specialize in identifying and solving game-related health issues, offering assistance as needed. Not only the health department, but even The World Health Organization (WHO) acknowledges video game addiction as a mental health-related issue.

EGF is a non-profit organization regulating the online gaming industry of India. EGF CEO praised the decision of the health department to tackle health issues caused by online gaming. 

As the online gaming industry is expanding, initiatives like SOP are much needed for a country like India to avoid health issues. Although the industry giants use KYC, still some people can bypass it or use illegal methods to participate in online gaming matches. The companies are also evolving themselves and using Artificial Intelligence to detect unorthodox methods by users. 

Hope other Indian states take inspiration from Maharashtra to start their initiative to tackle health issues related to gaming.

The studio was founded by Shalin Shodhan, who has been in the gaming and film industry for more than 20 years. Shodhan had worked for companies like EA, Pixar, and Lumosity. Detective Dotson is their second game under Masala Games Studio After Word Mess. 

Masala Games officially announced the game in August 2022 with a poster. Shodhan is also the music composer of Detective Dotson. He created background music for the game. Shodhan later collaborated with his childhood friend and the lead guitarist of Indian ocean music Nikhil Rao for the background score. 

In Detective Dotson, players play as the protagonist Dotson, who embarks on a journey to solve murder mystery. The game is heavily inspired by Bollywood and the famous Indian detective TV series CID. The game’s demo version is available on Stream. Users can wish to list the game in Stream. Shodhan said the game is a love letter to modern-day india.

In the demo version, players have to solve several puzzles, chase down criminals, and hunt for clues in order to find out who killed Detective Dotson’s father. Masala Games is going to release the full game later this year. 

Masala Games is going to showcase Detective Dotson in the upcoming Courage XL pre-GDC event on March 17. If you are interested in playing the game, then you will be able to try the game at Masala Games booth in GDC Expo from March 20 to March 22. Masala Games is also giving early access to the game to gamers and streamers from different countries.
