Xiaomeng ‘liooon’ Li: First Influential Woman To Win Hearthstone Grandmasters

Li Xiaomeng, popularly known as ‘Liooon’, is a female Chinese professional hearthstone player. She became the first woman to win the Hearthstone Grandmaster Global finals at the age of 23. Li was born on May 12, 1996, in China. 

On November 2, 2019,  representing China, she defeated Bloodyface Luna Eason, representing the US. She won major tournament competitions across all Blizzard games at Blizzcon. She won a cash prize of $200,000 while Luna took second place by winning $100,000. It was Li’s first win at Blizzard games.

Li has played major games and earned a total prize money of $241,510 in 9 games.

1. Her first win was on 14-01-2018 as 2nd at WESG 2017-Asia Pacific Finals (HS Female), but she earned 0 cash prizes.
2. The second was on 16-03-2018 as 2nd at WESG 2017 (HS Female) and has earned $12,000.
3. The third was on 02-11-2019 as 1st at Grandmasters 2019 – Global Finals and has earned $200,000.
4. Fourth was on 22-03-2020 as 5th-8th at Masters Tour 2020 Los Angeles and has earned $11,000.
5. Fifth was on 14-06-2020, with 6 wins at Masters Tour 2020 Jonkoping and earned $2,250.
6. Sixth was on 02-08-2020 as 5th-6th at Hearthstone Gold Club World Cup 2020 (Battlegrounds) and has earned $560.
7. Seventh was on 13-09-2020 as 5th-8th at Masters Tour 2020 Montreal and has earned $11,000.
8. Eighth was on 25-10-2020 with 5 wins at Masters Tour 2020 Madrid and has earned $1000. 
9. Ninth was on 27-12-2020 as 5th-8th at Hearthstone All-Star Invitational 2020 and has earned $2,500.

Despite winning she even experienced demotivation when some male players came to her and said these esports games are not meant for women. But leaving all the negativity she focused on her games and the results are unforgettable.

In her interviews, she expressed her feelings to the audience and motivated them by giving a motivational speech.
