Next-Gen Visuals Using RTX Technology

About a week ago Remedy Games released a demo for showcase next-gen insane visuals graphics using NVIDIA RTX technology. They are known for pushing the bar when it comes to graphics. Now, with NVIDIA RTX technology, they’re going further than ever. Remedy Games are also prominent in the gaming industry for their some popular rich graphics games like Quantum Break and Alan Wake. Almost every game from them got a good rating in terms of visuals and story. Watch their amazing demo unveiled at last week’s GDC.

Details About Demo

This demo is strongly focused on Ray Tracing (which has long been used for non-real-time rendering, provides realistic lighting by simulating the physical behavior of light) in visuals. NVIDIA RTX Technology, Volta-architecture GPUs,  GameWorks SDK, and the Microsoft Direct X-Ray tracing API make real-time ray tracing a reality for games. This Northlight engine tech gives us an early look that how real-time ray tracing can vastly improve the quality of shadow and lightning in today and future video games graphics. Due to this method being used by Remedy Entertainment now, it wouldn’t be surprised for us if we found this technique and this type of visuals in upcoming video games titles from this video game company. In an interview with developers, they said about this demonstration that:

It’s early days and we are experimenting with different kind of lightening algorithms.Quantum break, Alan Wake and Max Payne has had lots of research put into lightening stuff so this is kind of natural continuation for all the different things we’ve been doing so in demo we have reflections, global illumination and then also some shadow work

It is worth mentioning that ray-tracing denoiser module is coming to the GameWorks SDK, which will enable developers to remove film grain-like noise without any additional time-sapping development work, meaning the end result will look even better. So fans wouldn’t have to worry about graphics glitches and bugs related to lightning and shadows when this technique will introduce in video gaming graphics, which we sure will come soon. To those who don’t know NVIDIA RTX is a ray tracing technology that brings real-time, cinematic-quality rendering to content creators and game developers.

  1. *An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
