After seven months since Free Fire was banned, Garena is finally going to launch its blockbuster video game in India. As per the report of the Economic Times, Singapore-based publisher Garena has started testing out game servers in India. According to the sources, these servers will be set up in Yotta Data Services, Navi Mumbai.

Garena stated in an interview with the Economic Times that Free Fire India will feature fully localized infrastructure following the government directives and stakeholders in India. The company aims to address all regulatory concerns and cater for the unique needs of the Indian gaming community. With the collaboration of Yotta Data Services, players can expect Fire Fire India to be launched very soon.

What Is New In Garena Free Fire India?

Garena planned to launch the game in August 2023, but due to some conflict with government policies, the company has pushed the release date. Even now, the company has not confirmed the release date; it is expected to be launched in the starting week of September. In the earlier campaign, the company has partnered with Indian sports stars like Sunil Chettri, Saina Nehwal, and Rahul Chaudhari.

With the new campaign, Garena has announced MS Dhoni as the brand ambassador.  Additionally, he will also be added as a character in the game, which is already building hype among gamers. Though it has still not been confirmed, it would be fun for his fans around the world to see this happening.

Before, Free Fire was not so popular among Indian gamers due to its security concerns. Still, many people love this game, and it stayed relevant in the Battle Royal genre because of its low system requirement and involvement in the esports scene. Now, Garen is all set to launch the game with full localization to meet the preferences of Indian gamers.

Mobile gaming is very popular in India, with the majority of people playing games on Mobile rather than PC or Consoles. Here are 7 reasons why Mobile gaming is the future of India.

1 – More Convenient

Mobile phones are very handy, you can take them anywhere in your pants pocket. You won’t need a big place to play games, you can play games anywhere you want compared to Consoles and PCs. Consoles and PCs are huge. They take up a lot of space and it’s impossible to take them anywhere, especially a huge Gaming PC.

That’s where Mobiles are better: you can take them anywhere and can play games anywhere, whether it’s metro or cab. You don’t need a big monitor or 4k TV to play games. You just need to have a Mobile phone. Companies are also launching Handheld gaming consoles to make games more convenient.

2 – Phones Are Becoming Powerful To Handle Game

It was nearly impossible to play PC games on your Mobile phone without Cloud gaming. But it changed in 2023 when people saw the releases of Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil Village, and Death Stranding on iPhone 15. Of course, the Graphics weren’t on par with PCs, and phones also got heated while playing the games.

But it can improve a lot shortly. Who could have thought we would play PC games on a Mobile Phone?

3 – Cloud Gaming on Mobile Phone

Phone processors aren’t powerful enough to handle PC games, but here comes Cloud gaming. Cloud gaming is becoming more popular as gamers can play their favorite games anywhere. Jio, one of the popular brands in India, launched Jio Cloud gaming, where you can play PC games on your phone through the cloud. You will just need to have a good quality internet connection. You can also try other Cloud gaming apps to play games on your phone.

4 – Mobile is More Affordable Than PC and Console

Consoles and Gaming PCs cost a lot in India. If you want to make a good gaming pc it will cost you more than 1 Lakh and a console would cost you 50k. Their rate is very high for an average Indian person, and mostly teenagers who dream of buying them.

Then comes Mobile phones which you can buy easily for under 15k or 20k. Mobile companies are also launching good phones under the budget of 20k.

5 – Mobile Games Earn More Than PC and Console

Genshin Impact was the fastest game to reach 5 Billion in user spending. Mobile gaming users are more than PC and console gamers, and gaming companies somehow recover their budget from Ads and in-game purchases.

Krafton’s Garuda Saga, a fantasy RPG game, has been released in India. The game is based on Indian mythology and gives you an immersive experience. The game was announced on February 10 with pre-registration. Now it’s available exclusively for Indian gamers on Apple Store and Google Play Store.

Krafton made their way into the Indian gaming industry after they released Battleground Mobile India in India since their game PUBG (international version of Bgmi) got banned. Krafton completely shifted to India and accepted all the conditions of the Indian government.

In Garuda Saga players play as the protagonist Garuda. Who embarks on a Journey to rescue his mentor and friend “Allu.” Throughout missions, you will encounter several enemies and monsters who might stop you. You have to beat them using your skills and moves, you can also customize your character and equip different weapons.

The game is created by Krafton, and a South-Korean-based game development company Alchemist Games. The game currently has 50k+ downloads on the Play Store.

Anuj Sahani, Head of Krafton Incubator Program told MoneyControl “We have blended the vibrant essence of India completely into the game. We are looking forward to making more games which attract players from all over India.”

Garuda isn’t the first game Krafton released in India, they launched another game called Road to Valor: Empires, a PVP strategy game based on an Indian theme. The game currently has more than 500k downloads on the Play Store, it was very successful for Krafton in terms of downloads aside from BGMI.

In recent years Krafton has been hugely invested in the Indian gaming industry. In August 2023 Krafton announced to invest $150 Million in Indian gaming and interactive entertainment startups, despite the GST regulation. Later in 2023, Krafton announced the Krafton India Gaming Incubator to support game development startups in India.
