]]>For the 2024 Paris Olympics, the executive board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced that during the next IOC session, they will officially suggest and discuss the creation or organization of the Olympic esports games. They have also disclosed that this is already in advanced discussions with a potential host for the esports games. According to the IOC, after all the formalities of the games are finalized, a final announcement can be expected from them very soon.
The organization created the “IOC eSports Commission” in September 2023, and after the first month of its creation, they announced their plans to organize an Olympic esports game later on. The executive board has organized the Olympic Games in a variety of ways in recent years. Previously, they organized the Olympic virtual series and the Olympic eSports Week. However, despite the likes of Rocket Leagues, Street Fighter, Gran Turismo, and NBA 2K23, the events received poor viewership.
According to the IOC executive board, the first partner in the Olympic esports games will be the International Federation of Esports, which is already engaged in the e-version of its sports. In June 2024, they also partnered with ESIC to combat misconduct in esports.
If the IOC members vote favorably for the Olympic esports games, then there will be no obstacles or problems in the creation of the games. Additionally, the IOC announced that a “completely new dedicated structure within the IOC” will be responsible for the esports games, and it will separate from the organizational and financial model for the Olympic games.
IOC President Thomas Bach said, “With the creation of Olympic esports games, the IOC is taking a major step forward and keeping up with the pace of the digital revolution. We are very excited about how enthusiastically the esports community represented in our esports commission has engaged with the initiative. This is further proof of the attractivity of the Olympic brand and the value it stands for.”
The IOC Executive Board will discuss the creation of esports games in the next session, which will happen in Paris along with the 2024 Olympic Games; however, the decision will come with some notice. Olympic games have a set of values that all sports must stick to, and their game lineup is also different from all the other esports game competitions. Games like Counter-Strike and League of Legends have potentially violent themes; these are discarded from the Olympic Esports event.

The aim of this collaboration is to create opportunities and excitement for gamers in Mumbai and beyond. Also, College Rivals is keen on developing esports talent and includes gamers from top colleges in India.
Before the big finale of India’s biggest esports talent search, there were surprise dance performances at Carter Road, Marine Drive, and Juhu. College Rivals set the floor for these spontaneous dance performances that entertained and made everyone look forward to the main event.
In Singapore last year, the Olympic Esports Series introduced Just Dance, which is a popular video game that encourages physical activities and creativity. In this game, players use motion controllers to mimic the dance routines performed by on-screen characters. The inclusion of esports in the Olympics is a unique decision, but it adds a dynamic and enjoyable element for gamers across the world.
Now, College Rivals is bringing together dance and Esports in a fantastic way in India as they organized exciting flash mobs to blend dance and Esports. They performed at Carter Road on Saturday (February 17th), which surprised everyone around and got them excited for the tournament. Further, flash mobs surprised everyone at Marine Drive and Juhu on Sunday (February 18th) to take the excitement to the next level.
The performances were set to the ‘Rivalary’ anthem by Ampverse, which was released by Asia’s largest gaming community hub as a tribute to the gaming world. This sort of dedication to the gaming industry is the reason for the big Esports tournaments taking place in India and other countries.
College Rivals got the help of the ‘Dramatic Mob’ dance group for these creative and entertaining surprises for people in Mumbai. Their aim is to show their dedication to making Esports in India more exciting and different, and they are working to change how Esports is seen and experienced in India. Dance performances at Carter Road, Marine Drive, and Juhu are their way of pushing the limits and making Esports more interesting for everyone involved.
College Rivals, which is Ampverse’s first project in partnership with DMI Finance, has discovered a lot of gaming talents on college campuses all over India. They have changed how Esports is seen and done in India by giving students a new platform to show how good they are at gaming.
The big final of College Rivals will be an awesome LAN event, which means everyone will play together in the same place. On March 3rd, twenty-eight finalists from colleges all over India will compete in six different games at Nesco, Mumbai. This finale is happening in Mumbai to bring together the best players from different colleges to see who is the ultimate gaming champion.
Moreover, College Rivals gave some lucky people the chance to get free tickets to the big final. Also, those who took part in contests and activities got the special opportunity to be part of the grand finale. It’s a cool way to involve people and make them feel a part of the excitement that can take the gaming world to the next level in India.
