Payal Dhare, fondly known by her YouTube name Payal Gaming, is one of the popular female gamers and streamers from India. She recently went on to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, discussing the current trends in Indian gaming, as well as some important discussions on the future of gaming.

Payal has a total of 3.9 million subscribers, making her one of the most subscribed female streamers from India. She once met Tanmay Bhat for an interview in OnePlus India’s Dominate Nights segments, where she discussed her journey and the challenges she faced as a female streamer and gamer.

How did Payal get into gaming and streaming?

I MET THE PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA ❤

According to Payal, she got into streaming as a hobby. When she was in college, she loved playing games, particularly BGMI. By seeing the current surge in streamers and gamers, Payal thought of starting her own gaming channel on YouTube.

While starting, she had zero expectations from it, as she started streaming for fun rather than for any monetary reasons.

Payal on Controversies and Trolling in the Initial Stage, and How it Made Her Quitting YouTube

In the interview, Tanmay Bhatt asked Payal whether she had faced trolling and controversies. When starting out, Payal got support from the audience, but as she started playing with popular steamers and BGMI players, she started getting negative comments. With people linking up her name with several gamers and streamers. Some even trolled her for using popular streamers for views.

It was very much shocking for Payal as well. She wasn’t able to handle the trolls. She thought of leaving YouTube, but after putting a lot of thought into it, she chose not to quit YouTube.

How Do Audiences Treat Male and Female Streamers?

Payal said that the audience differs a lot between a male and a female streamer. She said people say “You are a girl, which is why you have a lot of subscribers,” forgetting the hard work a female streamer put into her work.

David Crislip Was the former localizer at Capcom Japan, and he wrote and translated scripts to the Japanese language for various games. His notable work includes Resident Evil 4, Dead Rising, and many more games. He recently appeared in KIWI TALKZ where he discussed learning Japanese, working for Capcom, tips to work in the Japanese Video game industry, and the common misconception gamers have of localization.

How does David learn Japanese?

Crislip was fascinated by Japanese culture from childhood, he loves watching Japanese anime and playing games. So he thought of going to Japan and working for gaming companies. After he got a degree, he moved to Japan as an English teacher. Crislip himself said in the interview that it was very easy and the only way for a Westerner to get into Japan at that time. It was a three-year contract for Crislip, where he teaches English to others.

While working as a teacher Crislip started his dream plan of learning Japanese and working for a gaming company. He started taking the Japanese language seriously in the second year of his contract. He planned to pass the highest level of Japanese proficiency test by the end of his contract.

How David Joined Capcom?

According to Crislip, it was his luck, timing, and connection that resulted in him joining Capcom as a localizer.

How Can Anyone Work for Japanese Game Studios?

As Crislip said, the most important thing anyone can do to work in Japan is to learn Japanese. Japanese studios work in the Japanese language and they don’t use English, it will be very difficult for anyone to get a job in Japan without learning Japanese. You have to learn Japanese, that’s the important stuff.

Crislip also advises people who want to work for Game studios, according to him it’s not enough nowadays to be a gaming enthusiast or game developer to join Game Studios. Studios now look more from you, and what you can bring to the table. If you have other hobbies or are an expert about a particular stuff, you have a higher chance of being hired than other people.

Common Misconceptions Gamers Have of Localization?

One of the common misconceptions gamers have about localization is that Localization is separate from development resulting in demolishing developers’ original ideas or dialogue through changing dialogue meaning. Crislip answered that Localization isn’t separate from Development, they work in simulation with Development. Localizer talks with Developers and lets them know about big changes they can make with a scene if a dialogue won’t fit in another language.

DreamLeague Season 22 is coming soon, and Tundra Esports’ offlaner Ivan Ivanov (Username: MinD_ContRoL) stands out for his opinions on the gaming landscape. Ivan possesses exceptional skills in gaming and has a thoughtful perspective towards gaming altogether.

After the roster shuffle of Tundra Esports’ first international tournament, Ivan shared his thoughts in an interview. The questionnaire included all the expectations, changes in professional scenes, and how Ivan feels about shifting to a new team.

Expectations And Goals Of MinD_ContRoL

Starting with the first question, the interviewer asked Ivan about his goals and expectations for the near future. Introducing himself, Ivan mentioned that this tournament might be their first, but it’s just an online cup for the team; even then, they are taking it seriously.

Ivan also mentioned that the team’s goal is to get in the top four, as it doesn’t matter for them to get in the top position at the moment. He added that getting in the top two would be enough, but the thing that matters is that they perform their best in those matches. As they are against some of the best teams in the world, how they manage is more important, according to MinD_ContRoL.

Transition Experience Of Ivan From Nigma To Tundra

The interviewer asked Ivan about his experience with this new team and how it feels to be here. Ivan answered that he misses his old team and their atmosphere, but this new team is completely different to him. He is trying to make friends with his new teammates, but these things take time.

He also mentioned that he missed getting into a new environment and meeting new people as he spent 8 long years with his old team of Liquid and Nigma combined.

The interviewer asked him about his opinion on Valve removing DPC (Dota Pro Circuit) following TI. Ivan answered, saying that it was a good idea and would be even better if some more changes were made. For Ivan, DPC is just an online cup, and it’s a bit boring, as it takes a lot of time to play just a single match.

Ivan also added that he believes that the grouping concept is flawed and that even weaker teams should get a chance to be at the LAN (Local Area Network) events.

About Valve’s Decision To Ban All Smurfs

The interviewer asked Ivan for his thoughts on Valve’s decision to ban all smurfs, including professional players. MinD_ContRoL mentioned that he doesn’t care much about it, as players are going to find their way back to Smurfing. Ivan has also been away from Smurfs for years, so he is unable to relate with those who love Smurfing.

Ivan added to his statement that, in some matters, it is actually good as it will allow everyone to know about their opponents’ stats. It surely will reduce some Smurfers, but people can simply get another PC and continue with their games.

Teams MinD_ContRoL Would Like To Join

When asked which team Ivan would like to join for the dream league, he answered, “Team Spirit for sure.” Ivan showed an interest in playing with Spirit and also wants to go against the BetBoom team in the dream league, as they are the top-ranking teams.

Another team MinD_ContRoL would like to join is Team Falcons (Champions of Dubai), but for that, Ivan would need to clear out the group stage. He also wants to play against teams Liquid, Extreme, and Azure Ray.

Ivan also mentioned that playing with Topson is a great experience for him. As he didn’t know much about them before, playing with him lets Ivan know a lot about Topson. Ivan added that he respected the guy even before meeting him, and now his respect for Topson has only increased.

At the end of this Interview, MinD_ContRoL said to his opponents and fans, “Be ready; we are coming for you.

Former professional Counter-Strike (CS) players kennyS and RpK made an appearance at Epic.LAN 41 in Kettering. It is sponsored by the skins platform Tradeit, and both players are there to feature in a charity Shomatch in Epic.LAN 41. When asked about the partnership with Tradeit, KennyS said they have been working together for a long time, and he really values their relationship. RpK also expressed his gratitude to Tradeit for inviting him to feature in a charity Showmatch.

When KennyS was asked if this event was different, he said it was similar to other UK events. Both players asked about the team’s chemistry at the event, and they said that the team’s chemistry must be good. They said that the event was enjoyable, which means people must get along with each other.

KennyS said that players competing in this event have a lot of potential. A good player like Smooya gets destroyed, which means the opponents are tough in the competition. Also, KennyS sees great potential in the UK players and lauds Thomas and Cypher for their achievements.

Since KennyS has won IEMs, Pro Leagues, and Majors, he was asked if this event was too easy for him. He said if he can make a team, he will surely win easily. He said,  Smooya, who is a good player, was destroyed in the event because he didn’t have good players on his side.

When asked about views on the current state of CS2, KennyS said it needs some improvements and suggested including some left-handed weapons since he is a left-hander. RpK suggested including more rotation in the map pool and personalized skins.

When both players were asked whether they liked football, RpK left the question to KennyS to answer because he doesn’t like football. On the other hand, KennyS identified himself as a PSG supporter. When asked about the connection with the Falcons, KennyS remained silent because no announcement was made

Both players were asked about their future plans, KennyS said he wants to create his own content and grow bigger on YouTube and other social media platforms. RpK said he will focus on his car workshop because he is enjoying that.

Mobile gaming is evolving every day, and the same goes for all gamers and users globally. The gaming community is growing day by day, and thousands of gamers are getting into this sector mainly for the enjoyment and career opportunities it provides. Recently, a global gaming expert, Noam Zada, who is also the head of Tiktok-based EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) Global Gaming Business Marketing, opened up about the transformative power of cultural resonance in the gaming sector.

Naom Zada has already been a head of Tiktok’s Israel Marketing Department, contributing to scaling their presence, collaborations, and perceptions. She has also helped the Iseral department to expand its global and domestic markets. A global marketing expert, Zada was also one of more than 250+ expert speakers delivering 29 conference tracks at Pocket Gamer Connects London on January 22nd to 23rd. In a recent interview with PocketGamer.biz, she shared some key insights into the dynamic mobile gaming landscape and its future.

Here are the key highlights and takeaways from her recent interview:

Common Mistakes Being Made In the Gaming Sector

Zada in her interview highlighted the most common mistakes that are being made in the gaming sector. According to her, the most common mistake is underestimating the transformative power of culture embedded into game marketing. She also mentioned that gaming is usually not included in cultural conversations, which definitely limits the true potential of a game’s reach. She also said that failing to cater to varied cultural nuances of modern gamers can also be a hindrance to a game’s potential reach.

When Zada was asked about a piece of advice for gaming companies, she recommended embracing the ‘New Title Launch’ strategy. She also advised gaming companies to use this strategy while prioritising cultural relevance. Additionally,  she mentioned that adopting timely and culturally resonant marketing strategies can positively impact connections between games and their players.

Upcoming Opportunities For Mobile Gaming Market

According to Noam Zada, combining cultural trends with gaming can literally open up an unprecedented amount of opportunities. Popular games that foster strong communities tap into these cultural trends on platforms like TikTok and seize the spotlight not only for them but for the game as well.

During the interview, Noam was asked about her Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics, she mentioned that player engagement is the key. She also added that it’s not only about the downloads; the KPI also depends on how deeply players connect with and how much they enjoy it over time.

Game Types Hitting The Mainstream And Overhyped Trends

Answering another question, “What game do you think offers something new that has yet to hit the mainstream?” Noam mentioned the RTS and AR-fused games. As there are many innovative games under development right now, she especially highlighted the potential of AR and RTS (Real-Time Strategy) games. According to her, the integration of AR in RTS can  transform everyday environments into dynamic gaming arenas, offering a fresh, exciting and engaging way to experience strategy gaming.

Talking about the overhyped trends in the market, Noam mentioned NFTs and said that they are overhyped without necessarily showcasing tangible value within gaming ecosystems. According to her, cultural resonance should be a core aspect of a “new title launch” strategy for sustained engagement.

The final question of the interview revolved around what she enjoys most about working in the mobile games industry. In reply, she said, “The constant innovation and the potential to combine cultural moments with gaming experiences.”
