The Dota 2 Games of the Future 2024 is an upcoming tier 2 tournament set to happen from February 19th to February 25th at the Kazan Expo in Russia. This tournament is different from other gaming tournaments as it features four groups in the Group Stage, and teams at the bottom of each group will face eliminations before the playoffs. Also, the best part about this competition is its big prize pool.
The total prize pool of $1,000,000 will be distributed among the 16 teams after the grand finale, and each team will get different amounts according to their rankings. The Prize distribution in this tournament is as follows:
- 1st Place: $350,000
- 2nd Place: $160,000
- 3rd Place: $120,000
- 4th Place: $70,000
- 5th-8th Place: $35,000 each
- 9th-12th Place: $25,000 each
- 13th-16th Place: $15,000 each
This tournament is divided into two main stages: the Group Stage and the Playoffs. The group stage matches will be played from February 19th to February 20th, and the playoffs will start from February 21st and end with the grand finale on February 25th. Also, a total of 16 teams will enter the tournament and play in Group Stages, but only the top 12 teams will move on to the playoffs. All teams are divided into four groups of four. Moreover, all matches will be played in a best-of-three format during the group stages. The team at the top of each group will advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the second and third-place teams will move to Round 1 of the playoffs. Unfortunately, four teams at the bottom of each group will be eliminated in the group stages.
