Every year Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) takes place in different locations; this year, it’s been set to take place in Seoul, South Korea. The Valorant Champions Tour is an Esports tournament series and consists of multiple tournaments throughout its run.

Valorant developer Riot Games announced the news on 17th Feb. The event is going to take place between the time period of 1st to 24th August. In a press conference, Jake Sin, the head of Valorant Esports, revealed that this year’s VCT is going to be held in Seoul.

Since the Valorant Champions Tour started in 2021, it’s the first time the tournament will take place in the Asia Pacific region. From its origin, Istanbul hosted the inaugural event in 2021, Berlin in 2022, and Los Angeles, USA in 2023.

Jake Sin also mentioned all the considerations it took them to select Seoul as the next host city. He added that they’ve considered cost, accessibility, infrastructure, visa applications and much more. Sin explained that Korea has already been an Esports hub for a long time, and they wanted to celebrate the occasion after bringing the VCT 2024 to Korea.

Sin added that they are excited after choosing Seoul as their host city this year. He also mentioned that this tournament brings a great deal of opportunities for Korean fans and gamers in the Asia Pacific Esports community.

Blueprint For Valorant Champions Tour: How Teams Can Earn Slots?

This VCT season, players and teams are getting the opportunity to earn slots in the championship through “Championship Points.” It’s necessary to collect needed points in order to get a slot in this year’s prestigious championships. For that, teams would need to place near top positions in their regional league to qualify for the VCT 2024.

Blueprint for Valorant Championship 2024:

  1. 16th Feb to 3rd March: International Leagues Kickoff
  2. 14th to 24th March: Master’s Madrid 2024
  3. 3rd April to 12th May: International league stage
  4. 23 May to 9th June: Masters Shanghai 2024
  5. 15th June to 21st July: International league stage 2
  6. 1st to 25th August: Valorant’s Champions 2024 Seoul

That’s the blueprint for getting slots to enter the championships in Seoul; teams and players would need to show their best game at every level to get to the end.

Now, for the playoffs and group stages, it’s expected that the Valorant Championships 2023 format will be repeated this year as well. According to last year’s roster, four groups of four teams might be formed and pitted against each other in a GSL (Global StarCraft II League) format.

If last year’s roster is repeated this year as well, the playoffs will have a Double-Elimination Bracket; all matches will be BO3 (Best Of Three), and the lower bracket and grand final will be BO5 (Best Of Five). In addition to that, there is a chance that there will be goodies and drops that fans can get at the tournament’s events.

In a press release, Riot Games mentioned that “All roads lead to champions,” which is a sign that this year’s VCT is holding a lot of surprises for fans in Korea and other corners of the world.
