A game based on Dravidian Principles has been launched at Chennai Comic Con. The game has hence gained popularity with more than 1,500 people installing it on their phone. The game is currently available for Android users, they might release it on Apple in future.
The game’s name is “Makkalin Mudhalvar” (People’s Chief Minister). It’s a simulation game where players become Chief ministers and take control of a state. In the game you will be able to see the behind-the-scenes of governing a state. The game is based on Dravidian Principles, so as a new player you will be able to know about their culture and principles. People between the age of 16 to 25 can play the game.
The game is launched by Populus Empowerment Network (PEN) and the main aim of this game is to educate players who aren’t familiar with Dravidian Principles. The game rewards you for making the right decision.
The game’s name Makkalin Mudhalvar meaning “people’s chief minister” is based on the Tamil Nadu government scheme ‘Makkalin Mudhalvar’ which aims to solve people’s problems in 30 days.
Pooja Pradeep, program manager at PEN told Indian Today the main goal of the game. “We want them (youth between 16 – 25) to understand the Dravidian model, when they came to vote, the founder Mr Sabarisan Vedamurthy wanted to use the new age media and technology to reach the youth.”
The game also garnered criticism for launching it before Lok Sabha Polls.
