Game Disruption: Mira Faces Ban During Dota 2 Tournament

The 1Win Series Dota 2 Spring Tournament started on March 16th, 2024, with a match between Team Spirit and MOUZ. The match started with a twist, and everyone got confused when they saw Team Spirit’s manager, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov, playing in position four. However, there was a misunderstanding, and Team Spirit’s Myroslav “Mira” Kolpakov was playing the match using the team manager’s account.

Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov explained this issue in a live stream on Twitch with Team Spirits’s fans. He said Mira was unable to log into his Dota 2 account because he had faced a community ban but not a VAC ban. Not only was Mira banned, but many more accounts were banned that day. Also, people can’t connect to servers when facing a community ban.

They tried to solve this issue by contacting people close to Valve, but it was early in the morning, and they couldn’t do anything about it. Korb3n said that since an official match had already been arranged, they liked the idea of Mira playing with his Stream ID.

Even though Mira played with the team manager’s account, Team Spirit lost the match. According to Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidyonov, they lost due to a lack of communication, not because of Mira’s problem. Mira gained access to his account after the opening day, and he played his remaining matches using that account.

After losing their opening match, Team Spirit defeated 1Win and MOUZ in another match to secure their position in the semi-finals. However, they lost against Virtus.pro but won against Team Liquid to finish the tournament in third place.

1win Series Dota 2 Spring was the first season of the tournament. Organizers selected eight teams to participate in the tournament and win from a prize pool of $100,000 USD.
