Duel Revolution Review: A Pokémon Rip-off With a Lot of Potential

Duel Revolution has been released on PC, Android, and IOS. The game has the potential to become the best Pokémon game on Android, but some problems drag it down. Here is my review of the game on what I like and what I don’t.

Duel Revolution Review:

The Good: A lot of Android games put ads in the game, which makes it difficult to play. You are playing and suddenly an ad appears from the bottom or you just get killed and a property 5-second video ad appears. Thankfully that doesn’t happen in the Duel Revolution. The game doesn’t put ads on your screen, but there is a catch in it which I will tell you about later.

Character Designs and World – The designs of the Pokémon aka Evo’s are very interesting and they look as beautiful as the world.

PVP – Certainly the game has the feature of playing against online players, which is interesting as the game of this size (22 MB) doesn’t have this feature.

Missions – The mission of Duel Revolution is very fun to play. You go to Bitacora Island where you meet Dr. Walther to help you in giving your first Evo for free. You use that Evo to catch other Evo to participate in the Beginners tournament. You can do various missions such as catching Evo’s, participating in tournaments, and many more. Just like Ash does in Pokémon.

The Bad: I told you in the review that it’s not an ad-based game, but the game is Pay to Win. You have to buy certain things to win against opponents. You need gems which you can buy from the store. As the game is Pay to Win it also affects some aspects of the game.

Need to Grind A Lot – As the game is P2P it affects some major aspects of the game such as Cubes. In the game, you need Cubes to capture Evo’s. The game gave me 10 Cubes for free, and it takes me 9 Cubes and 10 Minutes to capture just 1 Evo. I thought I would beat Evo and capture it in the first battle, but I was wrong. If you waste all of your Cubes you can buy them using Gems.

Not Beginner Friendly – The game doesn’t have tutorial features which every game has nowadays. When you start the game you won’t get any knowledge or tutorials on what to do. But somehow I found out where to go.

I have mixed thoughts about the game, the game isn’t bad but it’s also not very good. It’s fun to play, I can guarantee that. The developers can make it a good game by solving the bad aspects.
