Popular game company Monumental acquires Game Circus to diversify its game portfolio.
Indie game developer and publisher Monumental, best known for their game Crownfall, has partnered with Game Circus. Game Circus, is a US-based mobile gaming company well known for its free-to-play arcade game series, Coin Dozer.
Through the partnership, Monumental wants to establish itself in the mobile gaming industry. Monumental already published three mobile games, but they gained little downloads and attention. Game Circus is a very popular brand. They have published over 8 games, and their games have more than 150 Million downloads.
Game Circus CEO Donnie Thompson told PocketGamer, “We are pleased about the partnership with Monumental together we can take our games to new heights.”
Monumental had acquired Kongregate from Modern Time Group. Kongregate is a Web gaming portal. It was the first major acquisition Monumental did before Game Circus. Monumental’s decision to acquire Game Circus was made after seeing the growing popularity of mobile games.
Monumental is now focusing on diversifying its game portfolio by making games for every platform. Monumental will focus on making PC Games, whereas Game Circus will make mobile games for them.
